If you walk into The Education Center on Old Canton Road in Fondren, chances are you’ll find what you find at any other high school in the country this time of year. Seniors, anxious – ready to graduate.  What you won’t find is a run of the mill, cookie cutter educational experience. Much like the neighborhood itself, The Ed Center – as it’s often called – is a unique approach to addressing individual needs.  The school for the ‘bad’ kids? Hardly.

Friday the coffee is on Broad Street courtesy of BancorpSouth and its a chance to donate your coffee money to buy books for children. Lemuria will also have story time throughout the day.

Introducing a whole new entertainment option for the summer: the C Spire Wireless Summer Music Series at The Cedars.  

Mark your calendars now for the third Thursday evening of each summer month – June, July and August – and come and enjoy a different musical sound on the front porch of Jackson’s oldest residence. Bring your picnic supper and spread a blanket on the ground.
