North Jackson Photo Gallery | City: Street hole expensive to fix

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A 3 On Your Side update regarding that deep hole in the asphalt on Azalea Drive in Northwest Jackson. Aaron Geralds told us a set of barricade and a piece of plywood have set up for nine months, to surround and cover a hole that reaches 14 feet deep, maybe more.

City of Jackson spokesman Chris Mims says the hole was caused by the collapse of a 15-inch sewer line. Estimated cost to fix the problem is $300,000, and the money is not in the budget.

Mims says right now, Public Works is looking for ways to fund the project. Meanwhile, we've been assured a crew will be sent to determine ways to make the barricade more safe and secure.
